  • Job Description: Maintenance and Housekeeping Staff

    Purpose of Position:  The Maintenance and Housekeeping Staff for IHC is a stakeholder of our organization’s first impression and on-site experience for our customers and campers.  As such, this position will have ownership in preparing and maintaining those facilities in use for guest groups. This person needs to be adaptable to scheduling and tools that will better serve the needs of both the organization and guests.  As maintenance and housekeeping staff, this person will actively serve in the physical preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of facilities.  This includes the capacity to work within cleaning, organizing, inventory management, trash pick up and use of industry tools.

    Reporting:  The Maintenance and Housekeeping Staff will report to the Maintenance and Housekeeping Lead.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Leadership of the executing department and programmatic setup of accommodations and facilities for guests and camps

    • Oversight of schedule, inventory, and usability of camp spaces

    • Maintain, review, and improve systems and procedures to deliver on the customer experience

    • Collaborate with department and camp leadership to execute and design best practices and routines to ensure excellence in the delivery of usable spaces.

    • Analyze and communicate with team members and leadership on opportunities to improve 

    • Seasonal Support roles to serve with and around 6th Grade Camp, Gold Rush Days, and Summer Camp

    • Physical capacity to perform the physical activities required of the job.  

    Preferred Background and Experience:

    • 4 4-year degree preferred

    • Active membership in a local church 

    • Experience serving at a resident camp is preferred

    • The capacity to manage and learn organizational technology and industry tools

    • Ability to lead and manage yourself, and set priorities that align with the organization

    • Training and/or experience in housekeeping and maintenance.

    • Training and/or experience in customer service, scheduling, and planning

  • Job Description

    The Seasonal Staff for IHC is a stakeholder of our organization’s execution and service to our camp operations, customers, and campers. As such, this position will be an active participant in a variety of roles serving the needs across departments. This person needs to be adaptable to technology, training, schedules, procedures and skill development that will better serve the needs of both the organization and guests. As seasonal staff, this person will provide hands on support of the execution of camp programming and service. This includes the capacity to work within food service, program activities, housekeeping, administrative support, facility maintenance, and general technology and industry tools.

    Reporting

    The Seasonal Staff will report to the Program Director and/or a specific department lead based on schedule.

  • Our Summer Staff Program is a chance for students to get paid ministry opportunities and work with youth in a missional setting.

    Duration of Employment: Monday, June 9th - Friday, August 8th

  • Our Camp Counselor position is a chance to be an in-cabin counselor for our campers and help them grow closer to the Lord!

    Duration of Employment: Summer Camp runs from June through July and in the application, you can choose to do one week of summer camp, or multiple depending on your availability.

  • Purpose of Position

    The Camp Nurse/Health Care Supervisor for IHC is a stakeholder in our organization’s assurance that campers are cared for medically.  As such, this position will have ownership in the campers' and staff's health and safety. This person needs to be on-site at all times when campers are present.  As Camp Nurse/Health Care Supervisor, this person will keep records of all campers' medication for the week given to them by their caregiver at check-in. This includes maintaining a record of all interactions with campers under their care.

    Summer Camp runs from Friday, June 20th - Friday, July 18th

    • 4 consecutive weeks of summer camp

    • Overnight position 

    • 2 days off - Fridays & Saturdays

    The Camp Nurse/Health Care Supervisor will report to the Executive Director.

    Preferred Background and Experience:

    • School Nurse, LVN, RN, or someone with California Health Supervisor Certifications

    • Willing to provide training if you are the right person for the job

    • Bible-believing Christian who desires to serve Jesus Christ and is actively involved in a Bible-based church

    • Understand and agree with IHC’s statement of faith and handbook

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Dispense Medication

    • First aid for campers and staff

    • Ensure the health and safety of campers and staff

    • Check-in campers and receive medications for the week with proper paperwork

    • Check-out campers to return all medications

    • Record keeping

    • Communicate with camp staff and camper parents

    • Be available at the nurse's station or about camp and on call for any medical needs

    Living Accommodations:

    • Room and board in the nurse’s station (includes private room)

    • Bathroom with shower inside nurse’s station

    • May share the nurse's station with a nurse’s aid (aid is in a separate area of the nurse’s station)

    • All meals are provided in the camp dining facility
