Global Outreach History

The Global Reach Program began in 2003 with the vision of joining Christian camps around the world by training, teaching and assisting them in the areas of program, leadership and staff development. We have partnered with camps and ministries in Russia, Poland, Mexico, Nicaragua, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Jamaica, Nepal and India.

A Ripple Effect…

Every summer millions of children all over the world make their way to camp. For many, this remarkable experience in an outdoor setting is life changing. Often, this life change has a ripple effect that touches their family, friends, community and even their country. Aleksander Kharinitov , the President of CCI/Russia prays that God will raise up a Christian leader through a life changing experience at one of these Christian camps to lead his country towards God.

Christian camping around the world is not just during our summer; somewhere in the world it is winter, and vice versa, which means that summer camp runs all year long … somewhere!! The opportunity and impact for Christian camps around the world is enormous … and growing!! Today, Indian Hills Camp is ready and open to pursuing opportunities that God gives us to Join Christian Camps Around The World.

USA, Summer 2009	This summer we decided to focus on our own neighborhoods.  We sent 7 teams of 5-6 people throughout San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles to host week long day camps at their churches and organizations.  Those organizations were World Impact, Sudanese Community Center, Laurel Bible Chapel, Orange County and Los Angeles Rescue Missions, an Ethiopian Church, and College Ave.
Nicaragua, January 2009	Danny led a team as they did our first ever Adventure Camp overseas.  It consisted of 12 team members and they spent 6 nights on an island on Lake Nicaragua and did adventures such as hike a volcano, kayaking and snorkeling.
Croatia, July 2008	Tacoma led a new team back to Croatia to help run & organize a youth camp.  The team was able to reunite with our missionary friends there and be an encouragement to their family.
Nicaragua, July 2008	IHC sent 3 teams to help Emerson Diaz Prado encourage small rural churches in reaching their communities, especially children for Christ.  The teams also conducted a day camp at a Christian school outside of Managua.
Nicaragua, January 2008	IHC sent a team of 8 staff to conduct 2 different day camps outside of Managua.  Emerson also included a staff training session for the day counselors and program staff.  These national staff have gone on to help Emerson conduct his own camps and many came back to serve at the camps in July when IHC was there.
Hungary, Romania, & Croatia, July 2007	Tacoma, Liberty, Montana, and Tomac assist two existing camps and help begin children's ministry programs in these countries.
Jamaica, July 2007	Bison, Falcon, Emu, and Hurricane serve at Moorlands Camp and Whole life Sports Camp.
India & Nepal, July 2007	Silverado, Silhouette, Wasabi and Waterbug go to help Arun conduct multiple camps in Northeast India.
India & Nepal, October 2006	Curley, River, Liberty and Sioux go to help Arun (Pogo) run camps in Manipur and Nepal.
Baja Mexico, Summer 2006	30 college staff host a 3-day camp for 3 children's homes form Tecate, Tijuana, and San Vicente.
Far East Russia, Summer 2006	Adelaide, Metro and Rio offer staff and program training, and spiritual investment of the camp staff.
Poland, Summer 2006	Tacoma, Wasabi, and Ping visit 3 camps running program, encouraging staff, and building relationships.
Jamaica, Summer 2006	Jig, Bison, Silverado and Sparkle visited and encouraged four camps throughout the island.
India, Fall 2005	Curley, Candace, and Iwi helped Arun run his very first camp in Bripara; staff training seminars.
Costa Rica, Summer 2005	Pancho, Sioux, Jig, Ping, Sasquatch and Silverado partner with Global Outreach Group, a CCCA Ministry to serve at La Cumbre camp in the mountains of Costa Rica.
Poland, Summer 2005	Wyatt, Moose and Tacoma visit six different camps, emphasizing program training and activities.
Baja Mexico, Summer 2005	IHC summer staff host a 3-day camp for 5 different children's groups from Tecate, Tijuana, Ensanada, and Rosarito area churches and orphanages.
Russia, Summer 2005	Cascade and Rio create and develop a high school staff program at Camp Ark.
Poland, Spring 2005	Curley, Cascade, and Wyatt host two different training weekends for Polish Summer Camp staff.
Poland, Fall 2004	Festus, Heather and Lilac attend the National Christian Camping Conference and visit Polish Christian Camps while scouting out possible camps IHC can join with.
India, Fall 2004	Curley, Mango, Cascade, and Moose assist in developing camp program and running camps for children near Nepal during the Hindu holiday season.
Baja Mexico, Summer 2004	IHC summer staff run a 3-day camp for Baja California orphans.
Russia, Summer 2004	Cascade, Rooph, and Shadow assist in running a camp for Russian kids at Camp Ark.
Baja Mexico, Summer 2003	IHC summer staff spend a week working with church kids, running games and doing the Wild West Show.
Russia, Summer 2003	Rio, Sparrow and Cabo go to Camp Ark, offering staff training and development to the Russian staff.
Russia, May 2003	Festus and Wyatt go to Tyumen, Siberia to visit Camp Ark's director and site, to scout how IHC can become involved with Camp Ark.
