Global Outreach Group is an organization that connects Christian camps in the U.S. to other Christian Camps around the world. I love their mission statement about Christian Camping, it says this:

Using the most effective tool to reach the most receptive hearts.

What is this most effective tool?

It is Christian camping!!!!

More children and young people and families are affected by Christian Camping than likely any other ministry literally in the world. Can you think of another?

Who are the most receptive hearts?

Children!!

Put these two together and you have something special.

Not only is Christian camping effective here in the U. S., but this ministry is exploding around the world on every continent. Worldwide, literally millions of children and young people are being connected with God through a “temporary community outside their normal routines.” Having the time to find God by looking at His beautiful outdoors and spending time with older people who reflect God’s love.

Camp is like no other place on earth. It’s camp

We here at Indian Hills Camp are committed to providing a place where kids can be developed in all aspects of their lives including physical (fun & challenges), emotional (acceptance & independence), mental (education & experiences), and most important, spiritual (finding God in people & outdoors).

So join us!!!! Be part of us!!! Use us!!!

Find out how IHC can be part of you, your family, your church, and your children’s organization. That is why we are here!!!!!

The religious background of the leaders of the camp

I have looked over the material in this web site and cannot find any real information on just exactly what religious training or teachings are done by the camp. I have an extensive background in christianity and in christian education. I am currently serving as a leader for a class at a Disciples of Christ church. My concern is that I have seen camps used to almost brainwash campers into a specific approach to christianity. I would like to know if I can recommend this camp, but I feel I need more information. Is the camp associated with any specific church or church organization? Is the religious education limited to simple bible stories or is there an emphasis on a specific approach to the bible such as a literal or metaphorical emphasis on what the bible means in the world today? Any response to these questions could be of great help to me and perhaps to other people deciding if they should send their children to this specific camp.

    Youth Camp

I was blessed to be able to be a part of the Indian Hills camping experience growing up. I went many times for the Youth Camp offered and I also went many times just to camp with my family. I am now almost 30 years old and still remember my experiences at Indian Hills...the Watermelon Song, Marshmallow Rock and all the fun games we used to play! I just got an email about it being offered for military children and am really bummed we'll be out of town so I can't send my son. I know he'd love it!!!!

Great WebSite! Great Purpose! Great Lord!

Bob and IHC Team: What a wonderful site for parents of campers! As a Dad of 2 campers, it is such a blessing to see photos of our kids during the week. It is awesome to be able to drop them an email. This website is fantastic, and I wanted to say thanks. I know first hand (prof web guy) how much work it takes, and I wanted to commend the Team on the effort and most excellent outcome - you should be proud.

I've stayed in the wagon train campsite on 2 occassions, and just enjoyed your camp so much as an adult. I loved summer camp when I was a kid, and your camp is a real blessing, and one I know my kids will remember their whole lives.

May our Lord continue to bless you all, your ministry, and His plans for us all.

PS - I too would like to see answers to the questions posed by Bruce (don't know who he is, but he sure sounds smart!) on 21-May.
