The Summer Lead Staff at Indian Hills Camp play a vital role in our summer camping ministry. Our Leads are committed to Christ first and foremost.  Leads will have the opportunity to grow as leaders in ministry, develop Christ-like relationships, and meaningfully engage in camping ministry. Open Positions

Head Dean

Qualifications
Strong relationship and commitment to Christ.
Active involvement in a local church.
Desire and ability to work with children in a camp setting.
Passion for discipleship and staff development.
Completion of 4 full IHC sessions (22 day period), or equivalent experience.
21 years or older OR entering final year of undergraduate or higher, preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaboratively oversee/manage 30+ college aged Mission staff and up to 50 high school Team Staff.
Operate in conjunction with fellow Deans, under guidance of Full-Time Advisors, to facilitate and impliment a vibrant spiritual environment for the Mission staff, with a clear theme.
Develop and produce written daily devotions to be used by Mission Staff.
Plan, organize, and coordinate Mission Staff Events.
Support team building efforts through developing community spaces.
Provide individual guidance and mentorship focused on growth for 4-6 Mission Staff.
Support other members of leadership staff by monitoring schedules, resources, and task timelines.
Oversee issues of correction, confrontations and discipline, related to Mission Staff.
Fill various other program roles as needed.

Counselor Dean

Qualifications

Strong relationship and commitment to Christ.
Active involvement in a local church.
Desire and ability to work with children in a camp setting.
Ability to communicate effectively between teams and individuals.
Ability to effectively assimilate new and changing information while leading a team.
Completion of 3 full IHC sessions (22 day period), or equivalent experience.
21 years or older OR entering final year of undergraduate or higher, preferred.

Responsibilities

Directly responsible for the management/leadership of guest counselors during camper weeks.
Will work in conjunction with a Full-Time Adviser to assess and predict guest counselor needs and how to best meet them. 
Ensure supervision of campers at all times.
Provide pertinent information and training to guest counselors before and throughout camper weeks.
Review and collaboratively approve camper/counselor schedules.
Effectively collect, organize, and archive camper forms and related statistics in a timely manner.
Empower and encourage counselor leads to handle small issues of discipline.
Address minor to moderate discipline issues in line with camp policies and procedures.
Direct report to head dean under the advisement of a Full-Tome Adviser.
Fill various other program roles as needed.

Support Staff Dean

Qualifications

Strong relationship and commitment to Christ.
Active involvement in a local church.
Desire and ability to work with children in a camp setting.
Ability to communicate effectively between teams and individuals.
Ability to effectively assimilate new and changing information while leading a team.
Completion of 3 full IHC sessions (22 day period), or equivalent experience.
21 years or older OR entering final year of undergraduate or higher, preferred.

Responsibilities

Directly responsible for the organization of the Support Staff.
Oversee all aspects of camp programming that involves Support Staff including but not limited to, planning, organization, and scheduling.
Ensure camper supervision at all activities.
Mindfully balance the support staff's abilities/preferences with camp's logistical needs.
Provide clarity of duty for all support staff.
Address any potential complications with decisive and communicative decision making skills.
Encourage and empower support staff leads through inclusion and delegation of responsibility.
Report directly to the Head Dean under the advisement of a Full-Time Adviser.

Team Dean

Qualifications

Strong relationship and commitment to Christ.
Active involvement in a local church.
Experience serving in a student ministry.
Passion for the spiritual formation of high school students.
Completion of 3 full IHC sessions (22 day period), or equivalent experience.
21 years or older OR entering final year of undergraduate or higher, preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide structured and safe supervision of all Team Staff.
Manage the schedules and tasks of Team Staff Counselors.
Address issues of conflict within the Team Staff program.
Collaborate with the Team Director on programming issues.
Function as a member of the Dean Team.
Direct report to the Head Dean under the advisement of Team Director.

Team Staff Counselor

Qualifications

Strong relationship and commitment to Christ.
Active involvement in a local church.
Desire and proven ability to work with High School students in a ministry setting.
Passion for the spiritual formation of high school students.
Completion of 2 full IHC sessions (22 day period), or equivalent experience.
20 years or older AND/OR entering 3rd year of undergraduate or higher, preferred.

Responsibilities

Work directly with Team Staff, overseeing them throughout each day.
Direct and provide mentorship to a small group of 6-7 Team Staff.
Daily responsibilities may include chore grading, work projects, camp store operations, and food service.
Aid Team Staff with formulation and execution of personal summer goals.
Participate in planning and organization of Team Staff events and schedules.
Monitor the function and efficacy of the team program.
Collaborate with the Team Dean on issues of discipline/conflict.
Provide Team Staff with opportunities and an environment that promotes spiritual growth. 
Ensure total completion of team tasks, including chores, kitchen assignments, and program roles.
Monitor and protect the integrity of a "best possible" experience for the Team Staff.
Report Directly to the Team Dean.

Support Staff Lead

Qualifications

Strong relationship and commitment to Christ.
Active involvement in a local church.
Desire and ability to work with children in a camp setting.
Completion of 2 summer sessions (22 day period) at IHC as a missions staff, or equivalent.
Age 19 or older AND/OR entering 2nd year of undergraduate or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate Support Staff daily assignment schedules. 
Facilitate the effective and smooth operation of camp activities and program
Communicate clearly within and between small teams.
Assist other Support Staff in completion of tasks.
Coordinate preparation, operation, and tear-down of camper activities and events.
Make efforts to develop a healthy team mentality within the support staff team, consistent with IHC philosophy and Mission.
Fill various other roles as needed.
Direct report to the Support Staff Dean.

Counselor Lead

Qualifications

Strong relationship and commitment to Christ.
Active involvement in a local church.
Desire and ability to work with children in a camp setting.
Completion of 2 summer sessions (22 day period) at IHC as a missions staff, or equivalent.
Age 19 or older AND/OR entering 2nd year of undergraduate or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

Encourage and support guest counselors and meet needs when applicable.
Facilitate camper and guest counselor adherence to program schedules.
Play a vital role in main camper meetings. 
Address minor discipline issues with campers.
Act as an "early warning system" for campers with problems. Refer to other leadership staff when appropriate.
Participate regularly and enthusiastically in all camp programs.
Collaborate with Counselor Dean to ensure proper coordination of guest counselors.
